The Bhagavad Gita, often referred to as the Gita, is a 700-verse Hindu scripture that is part of the Indian epic Mahabharata. It is a conversation between Prince Arjuna and the god Krishna, who serves as his charioteer. The Bhagavad Gita addresses the moral and philosophical dilemmas faced by Arjuna on the battlefield and provides guidance on how to live a righteous life.
While the Bhagavad Gita is primarily a spiritual and philosophical text, it does touch upon the concept of yoga. In the Gita, the term “yoga” is used in a broader sense, encompassing various paths to spiritual realization and self-discovery.
Bhagavad Gita helps to understand philosophy of Karma Yoga. The Bhagavad Gita teaches that all these paths ultimately lead to the same goal, which is spiritual realization and union with the divine. It emphasizes the importance of finding the path that best suits an individual’s nature and inclinations.
The Bhagavad Gita also discusses the concept of “yogic detachment,” which means performing one’s duties and actions without attachment to the fruits of those actions. This principle is closely related to Karma Yoga
